Argentinian junior tennis players Agustín Luna and Juan Bazán will receive financial support thanks to an initiative from former pro Pedro Cachin. As part of the second edition of the 'Tenis Benéfico' charity event, to be held on December 6 in the city of Bell Ville, a fund will be created to help young athletes.
Cachin, who reached a career-high ATP ranking of 48th in 2023, announced the creation of a contribution bonus for three Argentinian juniors: Agustín Luna (15), Juan Bazán (15), and Mateo Pallero (12). His decision was inspired by Mateo Pallero's story, who recently went viral raffling an iPhone 16 to raise funds for the prestigious Orange Bowl tournament in Miami.
Luna, the top-ranked Argentinian player born in 2010, is the most accomplished of the three. So far this year, he has played 16 tournaments in South America, winning 28 matches, which propelled him to world No. 606.
The event will also feature top Argentinian players, including Francisco Cerúndolo (ATP No. 21), Gustavo Fernández, a five-time Grand Slam champion in adaptive tennis, and Cachin himself.
"It will depend on all of us to help them make their path 'less difficult,'" Cachin wrote on social media. The fund to support these young talents is open to anyone who wishes to contribute.
